What is Rapid Antigen Screening
Rapid antigen tests are quick and easy and allow NSW Health to identify COVID-19 in people who are asymptomatic. The rapid antigen test kits have been introduced to test across high-risk environments such as aged care, schools, hospitals, hotel quarantine, and airports to name a few.
The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) has registered a number of devices for use under the supervision of a health care professional.
Why Rapid Screening Tests are important to the Return to Work process
What happens if a positive result is returned?
All of our staff administering tests will be equipped with PPE and all persons staff and patients will be required to socially distance. All positive results will be sent directly to NSW health and the patient will be asked to quarantine.
Does the Rapid Antigen Test meet Australian Standards?
Yes, this test is approved by the Therapeutical Goods of Australia (TGA), for use only by registered health professionals as well as accredited pathology providers.
Is personal data collected?
Any testing data collected will be communicated with NSW Health only in order to support public health decisions. Personal health data will only be used with the consent of the patient.
